Authorizing the Police Department to purchase food, beverage, and miscellaneous serving items for the 2016-1 Academy Family Nights.

WHEREAS, the Training Unit of the Saint Paul Police Department will be conducting two Family Nights for the 2016-1 Academy; and
WHEREAS, Family Nights will be held on August 17, 2016 at the University of St. Thomas, 2115 Summit Ave, Saint Paul, MN 55105 and on August 30, 2016 at the Neighborhood House, 179 Robie St E, Saint Paul Minnesota, 55107; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the two Family Nights is specifically to train new police recruits and their families about the effects of police training, patrol operations and to inform family members of the services provided to them by the Employee Assistance program of the Saint Paul Police. Food and refreshments will be provided to the recruits and their family members in attendance. The University of St. Thomas catering service will also provide food and beverages during the Family Night being hosted on campus at O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.
THEREFORE BE IT ORDERED, that pursuant to the 2016 City Budget, the proper City Officials are hereby authorized to remit an amount not to exceed $1,200.00 to Sam’s Club, 9925 Hudson Pl., Woodbury, MN 55125; Cub Foods, 1440 University Ave W St Paul, MN 55104 and the University of St. Thomas Catering Service, 2115 Summit Ave, St. Paul, MN 55105 to cover expenses for food, water, soda and miscellaneous serving items for the above mentioned Saint Paul Police Department Recruit Academy Training.
