Honoring Senator John Marty for the League of Minnesota Cities Legislator of Distinction Award.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul relies on members of the Saint Paul legislative delegation to support the city’s legislative agenda; and
WHEREAS, Senator John Marty worked diligently during the 2016 Legislative Session to understand the issues facing not just the City of Saint Paul but Cities across Minnesota; and
WHEREAS, the League of Minnesota Cities has selected John Marty as a Legislator of Distinction for his great work on behalf of Minnesota Cities; and
WHEREAS, Senator Marty was cited specifically for his consistent consultation with League staff on a wide range of environmental issues and using his leadership position as chair of the Senate Environment and Energy committee to help address city concerns; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul recognizes Environment and Energy policy as critical to the success and vitality of Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, without the support of legislative leaders like Senator Marty a strong state-local partnership would not be possible; and now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED the City of Saint Paul recognizes the League of Minnesota Cities’ Legislator of Distinction 2016 award to Senator Marty and adds our sincere gratitude and congratulations.
