Amending the use of grant funds through the Neighborhood STAR Year-Round program for portable security cameras.
Body
WHEREAS, on May 22, 2013 the Neighborhood STAR Board reviewed a proposal from the Saint Paul Police Department Eastern District in partnership with District 1, 2, 4 and 5 Community Councils to utilize Neighborhood Year-Round STAR grant funds to purchase CCTV portable cameras for crime prevention on Saint Paul’s East Side; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood STAR Board rated this project a 3.85 on a scale from 1 (low) to 5 (high); and
WHEREAS, on June 19, 2013, Resolution #13-867 inadvertently approved an incorrect dollar amount for this project; and
WHEREAS, the intent of the Mayor and the Saint Paul City Council is to participate in the financing of this activity by providing up to $35,250 in grant financing through Wards 5, 6 and 7 Neighborhood STAR Year-Round Program; and
RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Mayor, the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes and directs the appropriate City officials to implement this Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney; and be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, staff of the Department of Planning and Economic Development are further authorized and directed to proceed with all other actions necessary to implement this Resolution.
