Title

Receiving the Department of Safety and Inspections and the Department of Planning and Economic Development study on AirBnB and similar companies' operations in the City.

 

Body

WHEREAS, on January 21, 2016, the City Council passed RES 16-118 requesting the  Department of Safety and Inspections and the Department of Planning and Economic Development (“Departments”) to study AirBnB and similar companies and how their operations align with current city ordinances; and

WHEREAS, RES 16-181 directed that the Departments bring forward a report of their findings and any suggested ordinance changes, if needed, by June 1, 2016; and

WHEREAS, additional time was needed to bring forth these findings and RES 16-948 extended the timeline to July 1, 2016;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council receives the findings and suggested ordinance changes compiled by the Departments;

AND BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the recommendations, and directs the Department of Safety and Inspections to move forward with the recommendations and report back to the Council within 120 days.
