Title

Authorizing Memorandums of Understanding with participating sites for the 2016-17 Saint Paul VISTA Program.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul will enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) for the period of the 2016-2017 VISTA program year, pursuant to which it will act as a Sponsor organization; and

 

WHEREAS,

- The Canvas at Hancock Recreation Center-St. Paul Parks and Recreation ($4,200 cost-share)

- Minnesota Children’s Museum ($4,200 cost-share)

- CLUES ($11,796 cost-share)

- Cycles for Change ($4,200 cost-share)

- Dispute Resolution Center (2 VISTAs/ $8,400 cost-share)

-  Elpis Enterprises ($4,200 cost-share)

- Frogtown Neighborhood Association ($4,200 cost-share)

- Keystone Community Services ($4,200 cost-share)

- Minnesota Urban Debate League (2 VISTAs / $15,996 cost-share)

- Right Track / SPPR ($4,200 cost-share)

- Sanneh Foundation (2 VISTAs/ $8,400 cost-share)

- Science Museum of Minnesota ($4,200 cost-share)

- St. Paul College (2 VISTAs/ $8,400 cost-share)

- Saint Paul Public Library (2 VISTAs/ $8,400 cost-share)

- Ujamaa Place ($4,200 cost-share),

- Urban Boatbuilders (2 VISTAs / $15,996 cost-share)

- Saint Paul Mayor’s Office / VISTA Leader (program sponsor / no cost-share)

will be Participating Sites with a VISTA member placed at each Site, and each Participating Site will contribute cost-share funding for the position (as indicated); and

 

WHEREAS, in order to facilitate the process and obtain funds from the Participating Sites the City needs to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with each Participating Site; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul supports Saint Paul VISTA Program involvement and authorizes the appropriate City officials to enter into Memorandums of Understanding as outlined in the attached document.
