Amending RES 16-202 to extend the timeline regarding Earned Safe and Sick Time.

WHEREAS, on February 3, 2016, the City Council passed RES 16-202 requesting the Human Rights and Equal Economic Opportunity Commission to convene a task force to recommend a proposed ordinance that requires earned safe and sick time for workers in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, RES 16-202 directed that the Task Force bring its recommendation to the Commission by May 17, 2016; and that the Commission present its recommended ordinance to the Mayor and City Council by June 1, 2016; and
WHEREAS, additional time is needed to bring forth these recommendations, and the City Council is willing to extend the time.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that RES 16-202 is hereby amended to extend the timeline as follows:
1. The Task Force shall bring its recommendation to the Commission by June 21, 2016; and
2. The Commission shall present its recommended ordinance to the Mayor and City Council by August 3, 2016.
