Authorizing the Police Department to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Ramsey County, Urgent Care for Adult Mental Health.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul Police Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Ramsey County, Urgent Care for Adult Mental Health (Crisis Team); and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the agreements is to set forth the terms and conditions between the core team agency members of SPPD and Crisis Team in a collaboration of local law enforcement agencies and mental health service providers dedicated to enhancing their response to individuals with mental illness; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the council approves entering into and authorizes Chief Thomas Smith to implement this agreement, as substantially set forth in the attached, with Ramsey County.
