Title

Establishing a financing and spending budget in the Department of Parks and Recreation by adding a $78,100 Capitol Region Watershed District grant for the design of drainage and site improvements at Swede Hollow Park.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Capitol Region Watershed District (CRWD) has an approved Watershed

Management Plan which includes funding for implementing Best Management Practices (BMPs) throughout the Watershed District; and

 

WHEREAS, the CRWD has adopted and approved the 2015 Budget and Work Plan which includes funding for Special Projects and Grants; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, applied for and received a $78,100 grant (CF 15-1779) from the CRWD for design of drainage and site improvements at Swede Hollow Park; and

 

WHEREAS, the CRWD and the City have worked cooperatively to develop a project approach that is acceptable to both parties; and

 

WHEREAS, the CRWD District Board of Managers has authorized payment of no more than $78,100 for design of drainage and site improvements at Swede Hollow Park; and

 

WHEREAS, the City is committed to funding the remainder of the project costs;

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $78,100 in excess of those estimated in the 2016 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $78,100 is available for appropriation in the 2016 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2016 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council.
