Preliminary Order setting the date of City Council public hearing for April 6, 2016 to consider approval of the improvements in the Como-Chatsworth Area - Phase II, as part of the 2016 St. Paul Street Vitality Project. (File No. 19189 Assessment No. 165205)

In the matter of the  improvements in the Como-Chatsworth Area- Phase II

 

Improvements to be made as part of the project include construction of new bituminous surfaced streets with concrete curb and gutter, concrete driveway aprons and outwalks,and boulevards landscaped with sod and trees. In addition, appropriate storm and sanitary sewer main repairs will be made, lead water services in the right of way will be replaced. Sanitary sewer service repairs will be made at the request of property owners. The street lighting system will be updated to the standard City of Saint Paul ornamental lanterns.

 

Also, as part of this project, the existing pedestrian ramps will be brought up to current ADA standards, with 2 separate ramps in line with the sidewalks in both directions where possible, with a truncated dome surface and Public art will be included in the project, following the procedures developed for the RSVP projects.

 

The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:

 

1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $5,400,000.00, financed by Street Improvement Bonds, St. Paul Regional Water Service Funds, Major Sewer Repair Funds and Assessments.

 

2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 6th day of April, 2016, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.

 

3. That notice of said public hearing be given to the persons and in the manner provided by the Charter, stating the time and place of hearing, the nature of the improvement and the total cost thereof as estimated
