Purpose of Appeal: The resent owner rented the axact same apt with no problem of not having an egress window in the Basement bedroom because there is one in the kitchen a wall away from it. Also I just purchased this house in May 2016 [2015]. We're working on it and has been. I need some time to get all the stuff done.

WHEREAS, in the matter of Appeal of Doris L. Miller-Johnson to a Re-Inspection Fire Certificate of Occupancy with Deficiencies at 1219 BUSH AVENUE, #1 of this legislative file, the Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed the appeal and considered the testimony of City staff and the appellant; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative Hearing Officer recommends that the City Council grant an extension until May 1, 2016 to give appellant time to come into compliance with the room in Unit 3 if owner wishes to use it as a bedroom by way of taking down half of the wall or put in an egress window. The door from the kitchen needs to be removed as well; Now, Therefore, Be It
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby accepts and adopts the Legislative Hearing Officer's recommendation in this matter.
