Authorizing the Police Department to accept a donation from Glock, Inc.

WHEREAS, Glock, Inc.is commemorating their anniversary and they are choosing the City of Saint Paul, Police Department as the only police department to receive one of the three presentation pistols they are making for this celebration; and
WHEREAS, the Glock, Inc. is recognizing the Saint Paul Police Department with this honor because SPPD was the first police department to make the glock their primary service weapon; and
WHEREAS, the engraved glock, with an estimated value of $550, will be presented to Chief Thomas Smith and be displayed at police headquarters in the historical display area; and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to provide a historical sample of police equipment; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts this generous donation and extends its sincere thanks to Glock, Inc.
