Comments:  Fire C of O inspector, accompanied by SPPD officer, inspected the property on 9/16/15 to verify the condemned unit had been vacated. The inspector found the unit still occupied by the tenants and ordered the property boarded.  This is a category 2 vacant building; file was opened 11/2/15.

History of Orders on Property:  LHO heard this matter on an appeal on 9/15/15 to orders issued on 8/21/15 by Fire C of O - Unit 2 was condemned because there was no electrical and gas service or 2 months, unsanitary conditions, insects and rodents, and non-working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.  Appeal to condemnation and order to vacate was denied.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Boarding and/or Securing services during September 2015. (File No. J1604B, Assessment No. 168103) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

WHEREAS, the City Council’s Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It
