Authorizing the Police Department to accept the grant amendment from the State of Minnesota extending the 2014 State Homeland Security Program grant.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department Bomb Disposal Unit accepted the 2014 State Homeland Security Program a federally funded grant award (RES 15-215), from the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division; and
WHEREAS, the State has offered a Grant Agreement Amendment to extend the term of the grant through June 15, 2016; and
WHEREAS, the extension was requested by the department to allow for additional time to finalize the program and grant spending; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts this grant amendment, and authorizes the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Chief Thomas E. Smith to implement the attached agreement with the State of Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
