Approving a Residential Permit Parking fee increase.

WHEREAS, Chapter 164 of the Legislative Code, “Residential Permit Parking - Guidelines and Regulations,” requires a permit fee structure to cover costs incurred for management of the residential permit parking system; and,
WHEREAS, per Chapter 164, residential permit parking fees are established by City Council resolution; and,
WHEREAS, the residential permit parking fees have not been increased since the program was established in 1980; and,
WHEREAS, the current fee revenues are not adequate to fund the cost of management of the residential parking permit program and the 2016 budget includes an increase in the residential permit parking revenue. Now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the residential permit parking Vehicle Permit fee and the Visitor Permit fee be increased from current $10.00 per permit to $15.00 per permit; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the new fee structure shall become effective beginning with the 2016/2017 residential permit parking cycle starting on September 1, 2016.
