Authorizing appropriate city officials to enter into an agreement with Lockridge Grindal Nauen, PLLP to represent the City and Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul in litigation against sellers of Liquid Aluminum Sulfates.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul City Charter § 5.02 permits the City, upon recommendation of the City Attorney and in the case of special or unusual circumstances, to appoint outside counsel to represent the City; and
WHEREAS, the City is in need of an attorney with expertise in the area of anti-trust litigation to pursue an action against sellers of Liquid Aluminum Sulfates on behalf of the City and of the City of Saint Paul Board of Water Commissioners, and the City Attorney recommends the appointment of outside counsel for this matter; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney recommends that the city hire Lockridge Grindal Nauen, PLLP; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the appropriate city officials are hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with Lockridge Grindal Nauen, PLLP to represent the City and the Board of Water Commissioners of the City of Saint Paul in litigation against sellers of Liquid Aluminum Sulfates.
