Amending the financing and spending budget in the Library Department capital maintenance budget in order to complete Phase II of the George Latimer Central Library Gutter Lining project.
Body
WHEREAS, Phase I of the George Latimer Central Library Gutter Lining project ("project") was completed in 2008 , which installed gutter lining on the north and west portions of the building; and
WHEREAS, phase II of the project was awarded funding in the 2015 CIB Capital Maintenance budget to complete the remaining south and east portions of the gutter; and
WHEREAS, project bids came in higher than the current approved funding due to in part to the cost for certification, testing, and modifications to the fall safety/protection anchor system installed as part of the 2008’s Phase I work and the scope of phase II to meet new safety codes enacted in 2012; and
WHERAS, the Office of Financial Services has identified available 2014 capital contingency; and
WHERAS, phase III of the project to complete certification, testing, and modifications to the fall safety/protection anchor system for the Phase I area of the gutters is currently under review for funding in the 2016 - 2017 CIB Capital Maintenance budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital improvement Budget Committee, that $125,000 is available for transfer of appropriation in the Capital Improvement Budgets, as heretofore adopted and amended by this Council, is hereby further amended as outlined in the attached Financial Analysis.
