Accepting materials, installation, and a three year network operation subscription for two electric vehicle charging stations in an amount up to $22,420, one station in the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary and one in Upper Landing Park, and to thank the Twin Cities Clean Cities Coalition and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Clean Cities/National Parks Partnership for their generous gift of the charging stations, and to establish a finance and spending plan for the electric vehicle charging stations.
Body
WHEREAS, the National Park Service is implementing an Alternative Transportation Plan to encourage multi modal access to the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area (MNRRA) National Park; and
WHEREAS, the Twin Cities Clean Cities Coalition, coordinated by the American Lung Association in Minnesota, together with the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Clean Cities/National Parks Partnership, has secured grant funds available to encourage the use of cleaner alternative fuel, electric vehicles; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul is committed to opportunities to make St. Paul one of the most livable cities in the United States; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports and promotes the use of alternative fuel vehicles and wishes to add publicly available electric vehicle charging stations at the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary and at Upper Landing Park; and
WHEREAS, the Twin Cities Clean Cities Coalition will provide up to $22,420 in grant funds to purchase, install and provide the first 3 years of network connection for two (2) electric vehicle charging stations; one at the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary and one at Upper Landing Park; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council accepts the funds for these electric vehicle charging stations in Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary and Upper Landing Park; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council thanks the Twin Cities Clean Cities Coalition and the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area Clean Cities/National Parks Partnership for their generous gift of materials and installation of two electric car charging stations; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $22,420 in excess of those estimated in the 2015 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
FINALLY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $22,420 is available for appropriation in the 2015 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2015 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended.
