Authorizing the proper City officials to proceed with the acquisition of a parcel of vacant tax-forfeited land westerly of 619 Lafayette Road

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul ("City"), acting through its Real Estate Manager, has secured an agreement for the purchase of a vacant tax-forfeited parcel of land (the "Property") held in Trust by the State of Minnesota and located westerly of 619 Lafayette Road and bordering BNSF Tracks and unimproved Arkwright Avenue (PIN No. 32.29.22.22.0071), as shown on the attached map and described as:
Those parts of Lots 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, Block 7 and of vacated alley and the East 1/2 of Arkwright St, vacated which lie Westerly of Arkwright St as opened across Block 7 and Easterly of right of way of St. Paul and Northern Pacific Railway Company (now Northern Pacific Railway Company), all being in Warren & Winslow's Addition to the Town of St. Paul

WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase the Property from the State of Minnesota via the Ramsey County Tax Forfeited Lands Division for the stated purpose of parking for the new Public Safety Training Facility currently under development by the Saint Paul Port Authority in cooperation with the City and located at 600 Lafayette Road, the value of the Property being $9,200.00 plus fees of $383.28; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council hereby authorizes the proper City officials to proceed with the acquisition of the Property for a purchase price of Nine Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-Three and 28/100 Dollars ($9,583.28), including filing fees, payable to Ramsey County. Said sum is to be paid by the Saint Paul Port Authority from its Public Safety Training Facility project.
