Approving the execution of a Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Saint Paul, the Port Authority of the City of St. Paul and the Metropolitan Council.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, the Port Authority of the City of St. Paul, and the Metropolitan Council (the "Parties”) find it in the public interest to work jointly to develop the property located at 400 Snelling Avenue in the City of Saint Paul (the “Property”) for the purpose of a Major League Soccer stadium; and
WHEREAS, it is in the Parties and the public’s best interests to enter into this Joint Powers Agreement to provide a framework for communication and negotiation with respect to development of the Property.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 471.59 the Council approves the Joint Powers Agreement in substantially the form attached hereto and marked Exhibit A; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, the proper city officials are hereby authorized to execute said Joint Powers Agreement.
