Appointing a Saint Paul Public Library Representative to the Metropolitan Library Service Agency (MELSA) Board of Trustees.

WHEREAS, Councilmember Chris Tolbert has served on the MELSA Board of Trustees for two years and gained insight and resources from the time on the Board; and
WHEREAS, Councilmember Tolbert is stepping down from the MELSA Board of Trustees effective September 16, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Peter Pearson has served as the President of The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library for over 20 years and has shown his dedication to the City’s Libraries; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Chris Coleman has appointed Peter Pearson as the new SPPL representative to the MELSA Board of Trustees; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul that:
The City Council hereby approves the appointment of Peter Pearson to the MELSA Board of Trustees.
