Accepting the gift of a Johnson 19 sailboat donation from Tracy LaVere for use by the Department of Parks and Recreation in the instructional sailing program at Lake Phalen.
Body
WHEREAS, Tracy LaVere approached the City of St. Paul’s Department of Parks and Recreation to donate a sailboat valued at $2,900 by the White Bear Boat Club; and
WHEREAS, the instructional sailing program teaches students proper sailing and water safety techniques while in the classroom and on the water; and
WHEREAS, the instructional sailing program could put an additional boat into immediate use during August, 2015 classes; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation believes that this is an appropriate addition to the instructional sailing program; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby accepts the donation of a Johnson 19 sailboat and thanks Tracy LaVere for her generous gift.
