Accepting Tax Base Revitalization Account (TBRA) grants from the Metropolitan Council and Contamination Cleanup grants from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) and amending the 2015 Budget.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City Council on April 22, 2015, by Resolution number 15-703, authorized the Director of the Department of Planning and Economic Development to apply to the Metropolitan Council for Tax Base Revitalization Account (TBRA) Program Pilot and Contamination Cleanup grants and to the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) for Contamination Cleanup and Investigation Grants for the 333 Lofts, 845-851 Payne Avenue, CLUES Expansion, Former Gross-Givens Manufacturing, Lonnie Adkins Court Apartments, Rice/Sycamore, Saxon Ford, Schmidt Keg House, Sibley Plaza Shopping Center, Twin Cities Academy High School Building Project, University and Vandalia Mixed-Use Housing and Commercial Development Project, and Western U Plaza sites; and

                     

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council approved TBRA Pilot and Contamination Cleanup grants of $22,500 for Saxon Ford site, $94,500 for Schmidt Keg House, $27,100 for Rice/Sycamore and $27,100 for 845-851 Payne Avenue; and DEED approved Contamination Cleanup and Site Investigation grants of $110,478 for the Schmidt Keg House, $199,000 for Twin Cities Academy High School Building Project and $72,735 for the Former Gross-Givens Manufacturing site; and

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does hereby certify that $533,413 in funds are available for appropriation in excess of those estimated in the 2015 budget and recommends the changes to the 2015 budget identified on Attachment A:

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Saint Paul accepts these grants and approves the changes identified on Attachment A to the 2015 budget.
