Title

Renaming a curved one-block segment of Washington Street, bounded by St. Peter and Sixth Streets, as Ecolab Place and assigning an address of 1 Ecolab Place to the new Ecolab Corporate Headquarters.

Body

WHEREAS, St. Paul Travelers occupies as its headquarters two buildings on Washington Street, one on either side of 6th Street; and

WHEREAS, St. Paul Travelers uses as its corporate address 385 Washington which is the street address of the north tower; and

WHEREAS, Ecolab has purchased the north tower for its corporate headquarters; and

WHEREAS, Ecolab is the only property owner on the curved portion of Washington Street between St. Peter and 6th Streets; and

WHEREAS, Washington Street does not extend beyond St. Peter Street; and

WHEREAS, Ecolab has requested that the curved portion of Washington Street between 6th Street and St. Peter Street be renamed to be Ecolab Place;

WHEREAS, the Heritage Preservation Commission of the City of Saint Paul and the Capitol River Council (District 17) have both reviewed and recommended approval of the name change; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the one block portion of Washington Street between 6th Street and St. Peter Street, as shown on the attached map, is officially renamed as Ecolab Place; and be it further

RESOLVED, that this street name change shall be in effect on September 1, 2015; and be it finally

RESOLVED, that the new Ecolab Corporate Headquarters be assigned the address 1 Ecolab Place.
