Title

Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to enter a cooperative agreement and to amend the Department's Financing and Spending plan to reflect receipt of not to exceed $30,000 for improvements to Kelly's Landing from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Body

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Parks and Trails has funding to enhance Mississippi River access; and

WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has determined access improvements are needed at Kelly's Landing to support river access; and

WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will award up to $30,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation to widen the canoe access at Kelly's Landing; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept the funds and amend the financing and spending plan for improvements at Kelly's Landing; and

WHEREAS, the proper City officials may enter into such agreements as are necessary to accept the funds, which may include an indemnification clause, with the State of Minnesota; and  

WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $30,000.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2015 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $30,000.00 is available for appropriation in the 2015 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2015 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended; and, be it

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept the funds and enter into a cooperative agreement, which may include an indemnification clause, with the State of Minnesota; and, be it
