Authorizing acceptance of a donation from Rebuilding Together Twin Cities for improvements at Weida Park.
Body
WHEREAS, Rebuilding Together Twin Cities approached the City of St. Paul's Department of Parks and Recreation to develop a project for improvements at Weida Park; and
WHEREAS, Rebuilding Together Twin Cities is an affiliate of Rebuilding Together, Inc., preserving and revitalizing homes and communities in the metropolitan area since 1997 by providing safe and welcoming spaces for communities to gather; and
WHEREAS, Rebuilding Together Twin Cities wishes to donate, to the Department of Parks and Recreation, the necessary supplies and labor for improvements at Weida Park, including resurfacing of the basketball court, installation of new poles and backboards, possibly adding a walk-through entrance along Tedesco where the fence transitions between the high fence and low fence, adding additional sand to the sand box, raking the field, and building and installing a bench near the basketball court to match existing benches; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation believes that these are appropriate improvements for Weida Park; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the donation of improvements at Weida Park and thanks Rebuilding Together Twin Cities for its generous gift.
