Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept a grant of $120,000 from the Saint Paul Foundation-Central Corridor Funders Collaborative-Grants Catalyst Fund to fund a two year, part-time, Green Line Parks and Privately Owned Public Space (POPS) Planner position, and to amend the finance and spending plan in the amount of $120,000 in the Department of Parks and Recreation to reflect the Saint Paul Foundation POPS grant.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul has adopted a strategy and vision for the development of the Central Corridor to buiild a place with stronger businesses, more vibrant neighborhoods, and more beautiful urban places; and
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Foundation wishes to award $120,000 to the City of Saint Paul to finance the part-time position of a Green Line Parks and Privately Owned Public Space (POPS) Planner; and
WHEREAS, the part-time POPS Planner would work with community partners, private sector investors, lenders and developers, city staff, elected officials, and other partners in planning development of stable, healthy, walkable, diverse neighborhoods near the Central Corridor; and
WHEREAS, this grant is made on behalf of the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative, comprised of thirteen funders working with others to develop stable, healthy, walkable, diverse neighborhoods near the central corridor; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $120,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2015 Budget; now, therefore be it
 
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept this grant in the amount of $120,000 to fund the POPS position; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor, that $120,000 is available for appropriation in the 2015 Parks and Recreation Special Projects Budget, and said budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council is hereby further amended as indicated in the attached fiscal analysis form.
