Authorizing the Department of Public Works to submit two project applications into the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Local Trail Connections Program for funding consideration and to authorize the City's local match contribution if the project(s) are awarded funding.
Body
WHEREAS, The Departments of Public Works is proposing to submit project applications for possible funding under the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Local Trail Connections Program, and
WHEREAS, there is a required local funding match to any project(s) awarded to an agency under the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Local Trail Connections Program, and
WHEREAS, the projects to be submitted by Public Works under the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Local Trail Connection Program are:
·      Arkwright Street Connection to the Gateway State Trail
·      Grand Round Connection to the Gateway State Trail, and
 
WHEREAS, the local match requirement is 25% of the project cost for each project, and so
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul to authorize submission of the two project applications for possible award of Minnesota DNR Local Trail Connections funding, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Saint Paul to authorize the commitment of local funds as identified in this resolution for any project(s) awarded to the City under the Minnesota DNR Local Trail Connections Program, and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby assures the connections to the Gateway State Trail will be maintained for a period of no less than 20 years.
