Authorizing the Saint Paul Public Library Agency to hold volunteer recognition events.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Public Library volunteers enhance services that are provided by offering a wide variety of talents, skills and time to assist in Library programs and tasks; and
WHEREAS, about 956 adult volunteers contributed over 27,000 hours in 2014; and
WHEREAS, the Library encourages youth to volunteer; and
WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library will hold a volunteer recognition dinner program at the Landmark Center in the spring of 2015 and a recognition for youth in the summer or fall; and
WHEREAS, The Saint Paul Public Library has received monies from The Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library to pay for the events; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that The Saint Paul Public Library officials are authorized and directed to undertake the staging of the events and remit the cost not to exceed $15,200 for the events to the proper parties.
