Preliminary Order setting the date of public hearing for March 18, 2015 (amended to April 1, 2015) for approval to proceed with the improvement of street paving, lighting and all other work in the Como/Chatsworth Residential Street Vitality Project area. (File No. 19167, Assessment No. 155203)

In the Matter of approving the construction of the Como/Chatsworth Residential Street Vitality Project, by constructing new bituminous surfaced streets with concrete curb and gutter, concrete driveway aprons and outwalks, and boulevards landscaped with sod and trees. Replace existing wood pole lighting with a new lantern style street lighting system and doing all other necessary work to complete said project. In addition, the appropriate storm and sanitary sewer main repairs will be made, lead water services in the right-of-way will be replaced, and sanitary sewer service repairs will be made at the request of the affected property owners.
As a part of this project, special attention will be paid to bringing existing pedestrian ramps up to ADA standards and public art will be included in said project area per the City's Public Art Ordinance as it applies to Street Improvement Bonds.
The affected streets and improvement details are as follows: See the attached Engineering Summary report for affected streets and improvement details.
The Council of the City of Saint Paul having received the report of the Mayor upon the above improvement, and having considered said report, hereby resolves:
1. That the said report and the same is hereby approved with no alternatives, and that the estimated cost thereof is $4,500,000.00, financed by Street Improvement Bonds, Saint Paul Regional Water Services funding, and Major Sewer Repair funds.
2. That a public hearing be had on said improvement on the 18th day of March 1st day of April, 2015, at 5:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall and Court House Building in the City of Saint Paul.
