Resolution authorizing agreement with St. Paul Public Library and Mobile Beacon to purchase 4G WiFi devices and mobile broadband service

WHEREAS, the SPPLA wishes to enter into an agreement with Mobile Beacon for the purpose of purchasing 4G WiFi devices and mobile broadband service which will allow the library to offer check out of mobile internet connection; and
WHEREAS, the agreement offers the SPPLA an economically affordable way to purchase licenses for the mobile internet connections it will offer for checkout to library customers; and
WHEREAS, the agreement requires the SPPLA to defend and indemnify the vendor for SPPLA's and its borrowers actions or omissions in connection with this Agreement, use of the Service or Equipment; and
WHEREAS, the SPPLA cannot offer this opportunity without entering into the License agreement with Mobile Beacon; and
WHEREAS, the St Paul Public Library Agency Board finds that the expenditure of public money, which includes the promise of indemnification, will serve a public purpose by assisting Saint Paul students in learning opportunities; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul Public Library is authorized to enter into the attached agreement for 4G WiFi devices and mobile broadband service which includes a promise of indemnification.
