Title

Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to solicit and accept donations for the 2015 Citywide Spring Cleanup event.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, will be holding the annual Citywide Spring Cleanup event on April 18^th, 2015; and

WHEREAS, the event is in partnership with the City's Come Clean! program, that works in cooperation with local District Councils and with engaged community members who volunteer to help keep the City clean; and

WHEREAS, Parks and Recreation wishes to solicit and accept donations specifically for this event; and

WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code § 41  requires that solicitation of funds on behalf of the City be approved in advance by the City Council, and that the name or title of the person or persons designated to solicit funds be filed with the City Clerk; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and Recreation is authorized to designate a person or persons to solicit funds and donations for the 2015 Citywide Spring Cleanup event,  and the name or title of those designated shall be filed with the City Clerk; and be it

FURTHER RESOLVED,  that the employees designated shall file a report of the soliciations with the city clerk, mayor and each councilperson.
