Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $101,000 to recognize additional funding from a Metropolitan Council Recreation Open Space Development grant for the Phalen Regional Park Splash Pad project, and authorizing the appropriate City officials to enter into a grant agreement.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is authorized by Minnesota Statutes section 473.301 et seq. to make grants to eligible governmental units situated wholly or partly within the metropolitan area for the purpose of development of regional recreation open space in accord with the Council's Recreation Open Space Policy Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation applied for (CF 11-50) and received $524,000 for the Phalen Regional Park Splash Pad project; and
 
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation has received an additional $101,000 for the Phalen Regional Park Splash Pad project; and
 
WHEREAS, the parties desire to amend the financing and spending plan in the 2014 Capital Improvement Budget for said Metropolitan Council grant; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of the Department of Parks and Recreation to amend the 2011 Capital Improvement Budget by increasing the spending and financing plans by $101,000, for a total of $625,000; and
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $101,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2011 Capital Improvement Budget; now therefore be it
 
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $101,000 is available for appropriation in the 2011 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2011 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended as indicated on the attached financial analysis; and be it
 
FURTHER RESOLVED, that Council authorizes the appropriate City officials to enter into a grant agreement with the Metropolitan Council for the aforementioned funding.
