Title
Amending the financing and spending plans in the Fire Department in the amount of $30,000 to accept a grant from the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota for the Saint Paul EMS Academy.
Body
WHEREAS, the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota has offered a grant of $30,000 to the City of Saint Paul in support of the Saint Paul EMS Academy, and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul would like to accept this grant from the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota, and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of the Saint Paul EMS Academy is to give participants that live in Ramsey County the opportunity to prepare for careers in fire and/or EMS service, and
WHEREAS, the financing and spending plans have not been established for the grant received, and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriations funds of $30,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2014 budget and recommends the following addition be made to the 2014 budget:

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council adopts the changes to the 2014 budget, and on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accept this grant of $30,000 from the Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota and extend their sincere appreciation to this organization.
