Title

Expressing the intent of the City Council to include the Palace Recreation Center Project in the 2015 Capital Improvement Budget, and the Pierce Butler Lexington Bike Connection Project in the 2016 Capital Improvement Budget.

Body

WHEREAS, the Council approved the Palace Rec Center Project and the Pierce Butler Lexington Bike Connection Project for funding in the 2014 Capital Improvement Budget; and

WHEREAS, in RES-PH 14-185, the Council approved the transfer funds from the Palace Rec Center Project and the Pierce Butler Lexington Bike Connection Project to the Jefferson Griggs Bike Project; and

WHEREAS, the CIB application process requires that all projects, including multi-year projects, must apply each year they receive funding; and

WHEREAS, the Council is unable to commit CIB Funds for 2015 or 2016 at this time; and

WHEREAS, the CIB Committee has already made recommendations for 2015 prior to knowing about the proposed transfer of funds; and

WHEREAS, the CIB Committee has recommended funding the Palace Rec Center Project 2015; and

WHEREAS, the Council is unable to waive the application requirements; and

WHEREAS, the Council would like to express its intent to include the Palace Rec Center Project in the 2015 Capital Improvement Budget and the Pierce Butler Lexington Bike Connection Project in the 2016 Capital Improvement Budget provided that the Palace Rec Center Project and the Pierce Butler Lexington Bike Connection Project follow the application process; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Council expresses its intent to fund the Palace Rec Center Project in the 2015 Capital Improvement Budget provided that a proper application is filed with the CIB Committee; and be it further

RESOLVED, that the Council encourages the CIB Committee to consider funding the Pierce Butler Lexington Bike Connection Project for funding in 2016; and be it
