Authorizing acceptance of a $46,000 donation from the St. Paul Garden Club and amending the Department of Parks and Recreation Long Range Capital Improvement Financing and Spending Plan to reflect these donated funds for implementation of conceptual design for Rice Park revitalization.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the St. Paul Garden Club approached the City of St. Paul's Department of Parks and Recreation to develop a project for revitalization of Rice Park; and
WHEREAS, the St. Paul Garden Club has raised $46,000.00 and wishes to donate the funds to the Department of Parks and Recreation for development of a conceptual design for Rice Park revitalization; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept the funds and amend the financing and spending budget for Rice Park revitalization; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor, pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation, funds of $46,000.00 in excess of those estimated in the 2010 Capital Improvement Budget; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the City Council accepts the donation of $46,000.00 for the purpose of developing a conceptual design for Rice Park and thanks the St. Paul Garden Club for its generous gift; and, be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul, upon recommendation of the Mayor and the advice of the Long Range Capital Improvement Budget Committee, that $46,000.00 is available for appropriation in the 2010 Capital Improvement Budget, and said 2010 budget, as heretofore adopted by the Council, is here by further amended.
