Authorizing the Environmental Policy Director in the Mayor's office to apply for a Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) Environmental Assistance Grant for Focus Area F, Communities Adapting to Climate Change and Extreme Weather.
Body
WHEREAS, The City of Saint Paul has applied for a grant from the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), under its FY 14-15 Environmental Assistance Grant Program; and
 
WHEREAS, the grant application project intent is to hire a consultant to develop a strategic planning framework for climate resiliency; and
 
WHEREAS, if MPCA funding is received, the City of Saint Paul is committed to implementing the proposed project as described in the grant application; and
WHEREAS, MPCA requires the City of Saint Paul enter into a grant agreement with the MPCA that identifies the terms and conditions of the funding award; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED that, Mayor Chris Coleman, as Chief Executive Officer of the City of Saint Paul, or his designee is hereby authorized to apply for funds from the MPCA for climate resiliency planning; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED,  that the Saint Paul City Council hereby authorizes the appropriate city officials to enter into an agreement with the MPCA to carry out the project specified therein and to comply with all the terms, conditions, and matching provisions for the grant agreement.
