Appointing Barnes and Thornburg LLP as special counsel, and approving the agreement for outside counsel services between the City Attorney's Office and Barnes and Thornburg LLP.

WHEREAS, there being special circumstances requiring the services of outside counsel to provide legal services in the matter of bond counsel and related services, pursuant to Charter 5.02 the City attorney requests that Benjamin Johnson and the law firm of Barnes & Thornburg, LLP, be appointed special counsel for said purposes and;
WHEREAS, the fee for said services is specified in the Master Legal Services Agreement between the City of Saint Paul and said firm effective on the date of execution; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Saint Paul pursuant to Charter 5.02 hereby appoints Benjamin Johnson and the law firm of Barnes & Thornburg, LLP special counsel for the purpose of bond counsel and related purposes; and
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper City officials are hereby authorized to execute the Master Legal Services Agreement with Barnes & Thornburg, LLP, in substantially the form attached hereto.
