Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to accept a cash donation of up to $1,500 from the Mechanic Arts High School M-Club to enhance youth programming within Saint Paul at Martin Luther King, Scheffer, and West Minnehaha Recreation Centers.
Body
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation, through recreation centers and programs offers many events, classes, and activities for youth and families in Saint Paul; and
WHEREAS, the Mechanic Arts High School M-Club is the oldest high school letterman's association in the nation and raises funds to provide additional financial assistance to community organizations, such as recreation centers; and
WHEREAS, the Mechanic Arts M-Club wishes to donate $1,500 for use in 2014 to enhance youth programming within Saint Paul through the following Parks and Recreation Programs:
Martin Luther King Recreation Center $500;
Scheffer Recreation Center $500;
West Minnehaha Recreation Center $500; and
WHEREAS, the money will be used to create and support programs for neighborhood youth, offered by Saint Paul Parks and Recreation; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council Accepts the donation in the amount of $1,500 appropriated for use by the above mentioned recreation centers to use to support youth activities, and thank the Mechanic Arts M-Club for its generous donation.
