Comments:  The investigating officers on the burglary found the dwelling to be vacant. The inspector inspected the property on 1/21/14 and found the dwelling vacant and secure. House in poor shape; roof shingles badly deteriorated, chimney leaning, siding cracked/broken, peeling paint/rotting wood frames, deck, stairs, windows, eves.  Inspector opened a Cat 1 vacant building. On 1/22/14, the owner, Roy Carlson, called to say he plans to stay at the residence this summer to fix the roof and make other repairs (with permits). The VB file was then closed by the inspector.

WHEREAS, the Office of Financial Services Real Estate Section has attached to this Council File both a report of completion outlining the costs and fees associated with Boarding and/or Securing services during January 2014. (File No. J1407B, Assessment No. 148106) and the assessment roll including all properties for which these assessments are proposed for Council ratification; and

WHEREAS, the City Council's Legislative Hearing Officer has reviewed an appeal of this assessment and developed a recommendation for the City Council with respect to this assessment; and

WHEREAS, a public hearing having been conducted for the above improvement, and said assessment having been further considered by the Council and having been considered financially satisfactory; Now, Therefore, Be It
