Authorizing the Police Department to enter into an amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement with the Metropolitan Transit Police for dual authority.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Police Department (SPPD) wishes to enter into an amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement with the Metropolitan Transit Police Department (02-16931-I); and
WHEREAS, this agreement shall amend the Joint Powers Agreement to provide dual authority pursuant to MN Statutes 471.59 and 473.407; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Saint Paul City Council authorized the City of Saint Paul to enter into, and Chief Thomas E. Smith to implement the attached amended agreement with the Metropolitan Transit Police Department.
