Declaring the opening day of the Highland Little League season, May 4, 2014, to be Larry Norder Day in Saint Paul.

WHEREAS; Larry Norder coached the Cardinals for 6 years in the Minor, Major, and Babe Ruth Leagues of Highland Little League; and,
WHEREAS; because of his dedication and support to improve the Highland Little League fields, in 1994 the Babe Ruth field was renamed Norder Field; and,
WHEREAS; Larry spent over 10 years as Tournament Director of the Highland Fest Baseball Tournament, which is now known as the Highland Fest Larry Norder Memorial Youth Baseball Classic;
WHEREAS; Larry Norder's extraordinary generosity helped many children and families participate in youth sports, and demonstrated to hundreds of children in our community how to be a leader, a giver, and a good citizen
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council recognizes Larry Norder's years of dedication and support of the Highland Little League, and declares the opening day of the Highland Little League season, May 4, 2014, Larry Norder Day in Saint Paul.
