Title

Authorization to Acquire Vacant Old Firestation No. 24 owned by the City of Saint Paul at 1720 Seventh Street East and Subsequently Convey Same to Brian Kjellberg for Rehab and Development for Residence, Greater East Side District 2, Ward 7.

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul ("City") has authorized disposal of Old Firestation No. 24 located at 1720 7th Street East ("the Property") pursuant to RES PH 13-23; and

WHEREAS, Brian Kjellberg ("Buyer") submitted a proposal to acquire and rehab the property for his personal residence; and

WHEREAS, the City Council approved on March 5, 2014, pursuant to RES PH 14-47, the  disposal of the Property to the Buyer with HRA acting as conduit; and

WHEREAS, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota ("HRA") is empowered to and now desires to, under its disposition policy and at the request of the City, enter into the Acquisition Agreement to accept conveyance of the Property from the City and subsequently to convey the Property to the Buyer; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota,

1.      That the public acquisition by transfer from the City pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Disposition Policy of the Property, legally described as follows, is hereby approved:

Lots 14 & 15, Block 1, Kuhl's 2nd Addition to St. Paul, according to the recorded plat thereof, Ramsey County, Minnesota

2.      That the conveyance of the Property to the Buyer is approved and that a Deed of Conveyance to Brian Kjellberg is authorized by the Board of Commissioners to be executed on its behalf by the Chairperson or his or her designated Commissioner of the HRA.

3.      The Acquisition Agreement among the City, HRA and Buyer, attached to this resolution, is hereby approved and the Chair/Commissioner and Director, Office of Financial Services are authorized and directed to execute such agreement on behalf of th...
