Authorizing the Parks and Recreation Department to enter into an agreement with the Public Housing Agency of Saint Paul for the use and management of McDonough Recreation Center.
Body
WHEREAS, the Public Housing Agency of Saint Paul (PHA) is the owner of certain real property known as McDonough Community Center located at 1544 Timberlake Road, Saint Paul, MN 55117; and
WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul and the PHA have partnered in providing space and facilities for recreational programming for over forty-five years for McDonough residents and community members at the McDonough Community Center; and
WHEREAS, following a lengthy community process, the City determined it was in the community's best interest to pursue an updated Use, Management, and Maintenance of Space Agreement with the PHA for the Parks and Recreation Department to continue providing programming and services in the Recreation Center space in the McDonough Community Center; and
WHEREAS, the City and the PHA came to terms on an updated agreement that is attached, and will help ensure services are maintained and enhanced for the community at McDonough Recreation Center until at least 2027; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul authorizes the appropriate city officials to execute the attached agreement with the Public Housing Agency of Saint Paul for the use and management of McDonough Recreation Center.
