Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation to solicit and accept donations for the 2014 Citywide Spring Cleanup Event.

WHEREAS, the City of Saint Paul, Department of Parks and Recreation, in coordination with the Department of Public Works, will be holding the annual Spring Parks Cleanup event and Neighborhood Litter Campaign on April 12, 2014; and
WHEREAS, the event is in partnership with the City's Come Clean! program, which works in cooperation with the local District Councils and with engaged community members who volunteer to help keep the City clean; and
WHEREAS, Parks & Recreation wishes to solicit and accept donations specifically for this event; and
WHEREAS, Saint Paul Administrative Code ยง41.04 requires that for solicitations of donations under $500 that the titles of the individuals authorized to solicit donations be filed with the City Clerk and that quarterly reports of all solicitations be submitted to the City Clerk, Mayor and all councilpersons; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Directors of Parks & Recreation and the Department of Public Works, or their designees are authorized to solicit and accept donations in individual amounts of less than $500 for the 2014 Citywide Spring Cleanup Event; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the appropriate reports will be submitted to the City Clerk, Mayor and all councilpersons listing all solicitations received.
