Authorizing the Fire Department to accept a donation of two automated external defibrillators (AED) from the Allina Health Heart Safe Communities Grant Program.
Body
WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department's EMS Academy/BLS Unit applied for and received two Cardiac Science automated external defibrillators from the Allina Health Heart Safe Communities Grant Program, and
WHEREAS, the Allina Health Heart Safe Communities grant program has offered to purchase the two AEDs valued at $2,800.00 and donate them to the Fire Department, and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of accepting this donation is to provide the members of the Saint Paul Fire Department's EMS/BLS Unit with AEDs for the purpose of AED education and training and life saving defibrillation capability, should that need arise, and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the residents of Saint Paul, accept this donation of two AEDs from the Allina Health Heart Safe Communities and extend their sincere appreciation to this organization.
