Approving adverse action against all licenses held by RAS Ethiopian Bar & Restaurant, LLC, d/b/a RAS Restaurant & Lounge at 2516 Seventh Street West.

WHEREAS, all licenses held by RAS Ethiopian Bar & Restaurant, LLC d/b/a RAS Restaurant & Lounge (License ID #20100000062) for the premises located at 2516 - 7th Street West in Saint Paul were the subject of a Notice of Violation dated January 14, 2014, stating the licensee failed to submit a copy of video surveillance for December 28, 2013, between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and closing, as requested by the Department of Safety and Inspections in violation of license condition #1;and
WHEREAS, the licensing office recommended a $500.00 matrix penalty; and
WHEREAS, licensee did not respond to the Notice of Violation to pay the $500.00 matrix penalty or request a public or administrative hearing; and
WHEREAS, the Notice of Violation stated that if the licensee failed to pay the $500.00 matrix penalty or request a public or administrative hearing by January 24, 2014, that the matter would be placed on the consent agenda to impose the recommended penalty; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, RAS Ethiopian Bar & Restaurant, LLC d/b/a RAS Restaurant & Lounge is hereby ordered to pay a matrix penalty of $500.00 for failure to submit video surveillance as requested by the Department of Safety and Inspections in violation of license condition #1. Payment of such penalty shall be made within thirty (30) days of the date of the adoption of this resolution.
