Authorizing the Department of Parks and Recreation, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, to accept "in-kind" donations of goods for use in the animal enrichment program in 2014.
Body
WHEREAS, Enrichment is defined as a process for improving or enhancing animal environments with the goal of increasing behavioral choices available, thus enhancing animal welfare and guest experiences; and
WHEREAS, Como Zoo has a limited budget for the animal enrichment program; and
WHEREAS, Como Zoo wishes to solicit and accept donations to support the animal enrichment program; and
WHEREAS, Como Zoo believes that accepting these donations are beneficial to the animals by enhancing their lives; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Department of Parks and Recreation, Como Park Zoo and Conservatory, hereby accepts donations of "in-kind" goods for the 2014 calendar year for use in the animal enrichment program.
