Authorizing the Fire Department to accept the donation of 18 flight helmets from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.

WHEREAS, the Saint Paul Fire Department applied for and received a $23,120.98 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for 18 flight helmets, and
WHEREAS, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation offered to purchase the 18 flight helmets valued at $22,870.98 and donate them to the Saint Paul Fire Department, and
WHEREAS, the public purpose of this donation is to provide Saint Paul Fire Department members of the Minnesota Aviation Rescue Team (MART) flight helmets with a better impact rating and better in-helmet communication for their short haul rescue operations, and
NOW THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED, that the Saint Paul City Council, on behalf of the citizens of Saint Paul, accept this donation of the 18 flight helmets from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and extend their sincere appreciation to this organization.
