Honoring Scout Brendan Zangs upon his receipt of the prestigious Eagle Scout Award, and proclaiming Saturday, November 30th, 2013 to be Brendan Zangs Day in the City of St. Paul.
 
Body
WHEREAS, the Eagle Scout Award is one of the highest and most prestigious ranks that a Boy Scout can achieve; and,
 
WHEREAS, Scout Brendan Zangs (St. Paul Troop 12) has participated in Scouting since an early age beginning as a Cub Scout in 2001 and a Boy Scout in 2006; and,
 
WHEREAS, Scout Zangs is a 2013 graduate of Johnson High School; and,
 
WHEREAS, as a scout he has received numerous achievements and awards including 27 merit badges and held the leadership positions of Senior Patrol Leader and Jr. Assistant Scoutmaster; and,
 
WHEREAS, Scout Zangs, for his Eagle Scout Service Project, led the construction of rain gardens for First Covenant and Holy Trinity Orthodox Churches on Saint Paul's East Side; and,
 
WHEREAS, Scout Brendan Zangs is a member of the Boy Scouts of America and will receive the Eagle Scout Award at the Court of Honor presentation on November 30, 2013 at First Covenant Church in St Paul; and,
 
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper for the Saint Paul City Council to honor Scout Brendan Zangs for his outstanding accomplishments in the Boy Scouts of America; now,
 
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council does hereby record for posterity its honor of Scout Brendan Zangs upon his receipt of the prestigious Eagle Scout Award; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Saint Paul City Council does officially proclaim that Saturday, November 30th, 2013 be forevermore known in the City of Saint Paul as Brendan Zangs Day.
