Accepting a grant/donation from the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative in the amount of $20,000 for community promotion through The Line online magazine, and authorizing expenditure of the $20,000 grant and $6,000 from the City's Marketing Budget to further community development through publication of The Line.
Body
WHEREAS, the Central Corridor Funders collaborative was formed to promote regional community and economic development and place making for businesses and individuals; and
WHEREAS, the Central Corridor Funders Collaborative has approved the granting/donation of $20,000 for ongoing publication of The Line and asks that the City serve as a fiscal agent to receive the grant and then transmit the donated funds to The Line; and
WHEREAS, the City would like to accept the donation and 2013 financing and spending plan in the amount of $20,00 needs to be established for this grant; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor pursuant to Section 10.07.1 of the Charter of the City of Saint Paul, does certify that there are available for appropriation funds of $20,000 in excess of those estimated in the 2013 budget; and the City further finds that the public purposes of economic and community development realized through publication of The Line will be enhanced and served by a city expenditure of $6,000 from its Marketing Budget.
WHEREAS, the Mayor recommends that the following additions be made to the 2013 budget:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Saint Paul approves these changes to the 2013 budget as defined in the attached Financial Analysis report ; and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Saint Paul hereby authorizes the grant money received and $6,000 from the City's marketing budget for publication of The Line.
